UNREAL!

Image
I still can't believe my friend put this plane down and ran out before it looked like this...

Prop lines

Image
More photos of the lines in propeller photos. Give it a try yourself... Take a photo with your camera phone, turn it and take one more... Did it show the same lines? If not, what type of phone are you using?

Pilatus pics...

Image
Flying from Turks to Lauderdale. See the photo with the lines in it? Does anyone know why this happens when taking photos of a propeller? It never makes sense to me because if you turn the camera sideways the lines are still in the same direction. I'm guessing it has something to do with the shutter speed but the lines don't change when the camera is turned? Try this with your camera phone next time your out flying... Turn the phone 90 degrees and take the same photo, now take a look at the prop lines... Anyone know why?

What a sight...

I've seen a hundred of so rainbows while flying throughout Florida this was the first triple. Doubles are a dime a dozen but this was my first triple rainbow. Its not very noticeable in the photo either. But it was there...

Very Light Jets

I can't believe how these little jets are coming out of the woodwork. Everyday I fly I hear more and more of these VLJs 'Very Light Jets' flying. DayJet has quite a few flying out of Boca and training over the center of Florida. I'm pretty curious how well they will do. I know I would rather fly a small aircraft that can cruise at Jet speeds than cruise along at 150kts. I can't wait to see how well they will be doing at the end of 2008. I think by the end of 2008 we'll see many business travelers using this type of commuter air travel especially in Florida.

Never Enough Multi TIME...

Image
During flight school everyone worried about how much time they had and did they have enough flight time for the next step... Now in the real world its the same old thing. I worried until I worked up enough hours to get to 1000 hours so insurance would be easy no matter what plane I flew. Now I have over 2000 and short on the multi engine hours, what to do now? No one will hire a guy with low multi time so you can't get multi time because you can't get hired... Is there anything you can do? I'm looking to hired on with a fractional but looks like I'll never have the min requirements... I'm sure I'll find something someday but why are the requirements so tough anyway? Personally I would rather have the guy most suited for the job. The one with the best attitude, best stick etc... not the guy who may have lied in his logbook and has 4000 hours of multi time but can't land the airplane straight to save his life... I know people that streched the truth in their b

Pilots Pay...

I FLY AIRPLANES ... Yet I can't afford the mortgage!! In just a few decades pilots went from superstars to expendable... I wanted to be an airline pilot most of my life, now I'm not sure I'll ever take that route. All these airlines companies have to deal with the public wanting CHEAP airline tickets and that ultimetly affects the workers. I have friends in the flight attendant industry and its happened to them to. So I think I'll be sticking with the corporate life which hasn't been too bad for me except for the fact I'm still flying a single engine airplane. I've been flying a little Cessna 206 for about 5 years. The best thing I'd say about flying for a good corporate flight department is flying newer equipment! The oldest plane I've flown is just 4 years old. The best of the best. The problem: I've wanted to fly big airplanes my whole life. If I go that route I'll lose half my salary. If I wait I might miss my oppourtunity. I hear fracti
